The geofrutescent Leptactina species (Rubiaceae, Pavetteae) of the 'Flore d'Afrique centrale' area

Onderzoeksoutput: Bijdrage aan tijdschriftA2: Artikel in een internationaal wetenschappelijk tijdschrift met peer review, dat niet inbegrepen is in A1peer review

A revision of all the geofrutescent material of the genus Leptactina from the 'Flore d'Afrique centrale' area indicates that L. liebrechtsiana should be distinguished from L. benguelensis. It is endemic to southwestern Congo(-Kinshasa); a new division in two varieties is proposed. The taxonomic value of corolla trichomes in this group is examined. The geofrutescent taxa of the flora area are keyed out and their distribution is documented. The intraspecific variation of the two other species, L. benguelensis and L. epinyctios, is also discussed; the division of L. benguelensis in two subspecies is accepted, but a refinement of the defining criterions is proposed.
