[Oral Presentation] New technologies lead to new uses in the herbarium of the Botanic Garden Meise

Onderzoeksoutput: Hoofdstuk in Boek/Rapport/CongresprocedureC3: Congres abstract

The Botanic Garden Meise monitors the different uses of its African Herbarium since 2013. The inventoried studies can be grouped into six different topics: taxonomy & systematics, morphology & anatomy, identification & vouchers, molecular research, traits & global change, traits, ecology & distribution, and phenology. Due to recent progresses in analytical techniques and information technology it is clear that the African Herbarium of the Botanic Garden Meise harbours a collection that can be used for a wide range of disciplines other than the traditional ones. Carefully monitoring and documenting these new uses illustrates the potential of the collections and proofs the ongoing relevance of collections for the future.
