A floristic treatment for the Araliaceae, subfamily Hydrocotyloideae,
occurring within the region covered by the Flore d’Afrique centrale (Democratic
Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi) is given. One genus with five species
are documented and presented along with a morphological description, synonyms,
distributional data, information on habitat and conservation, vernacular names,
as well as additional bibliography, taxonomic notes and the citation of representative
herbarium specimens. Keys to all taxa are provided, while identification is
supported by three botanical illustrations as well as five colour photographs.
