Flore d'Afrique centrale, n.s. - Spermatophyta - Gramineae, Introduction, Tribu I. Phareae à X. Bambuseae

Onderzoeksoutput: Boek/rapportBoek

This first part of the flora treatment for the Gramineae occurring in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi provides general family-level information, a key to the 31 tribes occurring in this region, an illustrated glossary explaining grass morphology terminology, and deals with the first ten tribes, belonging to the four basal subfamilies. The classification follows that of Soreng & al. (2015) and Kellog (2015) apart from a few exceptions. Within the region dealt with by this Flora, these first ten tribes comprise 15 genera and 26 species, some of which are introduced such as several species of bamboo and rice. Each species treatment comes with a full description, synonyms, data on their distribution, habitat, vernacular names and uses, as well as references to additional literature and the citation of representative specimens. User-friendly keys to all genera and species are provided, along with 20 detailed line drawings to assist species recognition.
