This technical report describes the results of the update of the division of the Flemish territory into 'urbanized, peri-urban and rural areas' at the level of the statistical sectors, as initially elaborated in the Spatial Report 2018 and updated in the Spatial Report 2021 published by the Department of Environment and Spatial Development. This report covers: (1) the method described and applied to map the situation in 2022 and the situation in 2013, 2016 and 2019 (again, according to the new version of the data layer with settlement area), (2) the discussion of the results of the urbanized-peripheral-rural area in 2022, (3) an analysis of the evolution of urbanization in the period 2013-2022.
